Getting Around
Arrival in San Juan
Welcome to San Juan! Once you land at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU), the easiest way to get to Condado is by Uber—it’s affordable (anywhere from $15-$25), reliable, and takes only about 15 minutes.
📍 How to Get an Uber:
Use the Uber app to request a ride after landing
Go to the designated ride-sharing pickup area on the ground floor of Terminals A and B
Follow the directions in the app
Meet your driver at the assigned pickup location
Taxis are also available, but they have set rates that are usually higher than Uber.
Ground Transportation
Navigating San Juan is easy, with plenty of transportation options to get you where you need to go.
Rideshares like Uber are widely available and often the most convenient way to get around. Taxis are also an option, but they tend to be pricier and operate on set rates.
If you plan to explore beyond the city, rental cars are available, though parking in Old San Juan can be very tricky.
For short distances, walking is a great way to soak in the sights, especially in areas like Condado and Old San Juan.
Rental Cars
If you're planning to explore beyond San Juan, we've got some exclusive rental car discounts that are available to us as a union household—but open for anyone to use! No catch, just a little perk we’re happy to share.
That said, we don’t recommend renting a car for your entire stay—hotel parking is expensive, and parking in Old San Juan can be a challenge with narrow streets and limited spots. Instead, rideshares like Uber are convenient for getting around the city.
For those staying in Condado, we recommend the Avis location at 1050 Ashford Ave—it’s conveniently right across the street from La Concha and perfect for picking up a car for a day trip.
